Oh my word!!! I swear we were twins in a previous life. That is one of my huge pet peeves. My father in law lives really close by and so I go over and clean his house and do his laundry and try and keep up on policing his fridge. But he literally gets mad at me if I throw things away too soon. He recently had a pot of spaghetti that was growing mold and he got mad that I was throwing it out because he could scrape the mold off and still eat it!!!!!!! The man will live forever because he's got so much natural antibiotics in his system from eating MOLD!!
Ew gross! I agree, clean out the fridge. You should see mom's fridge right now...you wouldn't recognize it. What spurred this post today? I'm curious.
Ewww. I was talking to renee at thanksgiving and she says her mother, who is educated in food science, says that no food should be used after 3 days, yes 3. So, use it up wear it out, eat it in 3 days or chuck it out!On a similar note, harold and I accidentally bought too much milk during the thanksgiving day holiday and we were going to take the extra up to mom's house but forgot. on thursday of this week I had two gallons in my fridge with thursdays date on it. Unopened. I am such a stickler when it comes to milk products after the date, but It was a bit hard for me to chuck $6 bucks worth of milk, even though I NEVER would have drank it.
Good Job Holley, Becky and Jeanna! The fight against old food must go on!
