Book Review - A Thousand Splendid Suns By Khaled Hosseini

This is the book my Book Club has chosen for February...... Now I absolutely can not wait to meet. This book was so good. Sad and heart wrenching in some parts, but still so good. It's the story of 2 women in Afghanistan starting when they are children. And that is all I'll say. It's a tale of survival and love.
This book and others like it give me such a great glimpse into what the people of Afghanistan have been going through for decades. Especially the women. It makes me so grateful for the life I have been given.
I recommend this book to anyone who has a weekend where they don't have to talk or interact with anyone else. I couldn't put it down and I stayed up until 2 am one night reading it. And at that point I had to force myself to stop. Then I woke up at 8:20 the next morning to finish it. So good.

I can't wait for book club either. We've talked about this book already, I know, but just wanted to add my recommendation to yours.

Can I borrow it?

Sounds good. Unfortunately I have to read 200 pages every other day for my English classes, so no joy reading for now. But I will be needing recommendations as of April 25. Woohoo!

OH MY GOSH!!! I don't know when I got this book from you (sometime last week)...but, I started reading it on Saturday nightish. Read some on Sunday night. Read some on Monday night. And then read over half the book last night. I'm not an AVID reader like you so I was surprised that I couldn't put it down. I was also surprised that I could stay up to read it...I finished it last night at 1am.

Makes me SO very grateful to live in a free country and to not be living in a war zone.
