What a week!

The week hasn't been that busy, but it has been strange. Sam had Type A Influenza, so I didn't go to work all week and so my routine has been a little skewed, thus no blogging.
How is it that a kid with a 101 degree temp., which got up to 103, can walk, run and scamper around the house like nothing is wrong? He wouldn't sit still. And every time he moved around too much or got too loud he would go into coughing fits. No amount of explaining to him what was causing these fits could convince him to sit still. The first day on the cough syrup he was a bit stymied. But not for long. I do think it helped him sleep better at night though.
Today, which would be day 11 of the whole drama, he slept in until 11am and then was back to sleep by 2pm. We woke him up around 3:30. Now I am just praying he will go to bed tonight. The plan was to put him down early, around 7, so he could be ready to go back to school tomorrow. He hasn't had a fever for almost three days, so we think he is ready.
I must admit though, it has been nice staying home with him.I am so looking forward to summer.

Ugghh! No fun! That is a long time to care for a sick kid. I feel for you. Owen and I were in the ER in the middle of the night a week ago because he got croup real bad and had breathing difficulty. It is exhausting take care of your kids when they are sick and you feel bad for them too. Hope he goes to bed and is better tomorrow for both of you! :)

Wow, I had no idea. I heard he had been sick, but the flu? Yikes. I am glad he is doing better. I am looking forward to summer too.

I can't believe Sam slept so much. Hopefully he can get back to school. I know that means you have to go back to school too, but I like getting back into a routine again even if it's not a great routine.

By the way, I opened by blog up again and changed the name. It's now Kim's Corner at

No, we didn't miss school today. I posted that on Sunday. He went today and he made it through.
I made it through too.
