Sunday Morning

Well, my Sisters in-law kept me out until midnight on Friday night(ROCK ON JAY JAY), and we had another late night on Saturday, so on Sunday morning we all slept in. As I lay in my bed until noon, Sam came in and out. I finally decided to press my luck and I asked him to make me breakfast and bring it to me in bed. He laughed and said, "It's not Mother's Day". I told him that it's not kids day either so I guessed I didn't have to make him any breakfast. He told me,"Everyday is kids day, unless it's Mother's Day, or Father's Day, or Grandma Day, or Grandpa Day, or Uncle Day, or Becky - wait, Aunt Day, and I don't mean the kind of ants that pick up crumbs."

Then today he asked me why some girls grow mustaches in their arm pits. Oh yeah, he's a deep thinker. But what does that tell you about me?

Nothing like breakfast in bed! That's too funny about Sam. Don't feel bad, my boys who are old enough to know better forgot me on Mother's Day. So the one day of the year I'm supposed to be pampered and it was not so nice. But both of their birthdays are coming up later this year so I plan to have my revenge.

I see from your sidebar that you're reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I love this book. I don't know if I have ever read a book so fast. I love the detail in which it is written and the relationships between the characters. I think it's a fine example of what it means to come of age, and shows how, as we get older we understand and look at things differently than we once had. Some of my friends have commented that they thought it was too slow moving.I don't think it was slow moving or plotless. The plot is life, and sometimes life isn't gun slinging and damsels in distress.

I have spent the past few hours at the computer (yes consecutively) reading blogs. You rock Julie! And so do all of my nieces. It has been fun to get caught up on everyones lives. And as for sleeping in late and hoping for breakfast in bed...the other day I couldn't get my teenagers to get me just a glass of water. But, keep hope alive! Give Sam and Matt a big hug from us, and then tell them to give you one back from us as well. Love you guys!

Hey Jammin Julie! We did rock the house didn't we? I will never be able to increase the judging level on that game because it would make me feel pretty bad about myself. The one thing I wish I could do well is sing on key every single time, and sound good doing it.

I am going to call H right now and having him read your blog, he will laugh out loud, just like I did, when he reads about Sam and the mustache lady.

thanks for the visual there! i envisioned jules with tufts of red-something wirey hair protruding from her t-shirt.... once again, thanks!

Oh yeah, and i just recently had the "everyday is kids day" conversation with my 5 year old... now he doesn't want to grow up he says.

you two were "jammin" so loud that I had to turn the volume down TWICE!! What does that say?!? ;) Only kidding.. i just wanted K. to stay asleep! That's hilarious what Sam said about the arm pits! Maybe he saw Aunt Amy lift up her arms at her b-day party! ;)
