4 Weeks

Well, angry again. I think it's because I stole her pants for this shot. I thought it was too cute that she and her bear had similar skirts on, but apparently Lola wasn't feeling the magic. I'm not sure she got any longer this week but I really do think she got thicker. She is a really good nurser.

Here she is a little happier. She got her pants back and her tummy filled right before this one. I think she is feeling the magic now, especially since she's showing off her ballet moves.
And I know you all have been wondering what Sam has been up to recently.
Showing me his muscles.
What ever is going on here.
Still not sure.
And still... I don't know what to call this or why.

Snuggling with his sister.
He didn't know I was taking this picture. I thought it was cute that she was holding his hand and he had his other hand gently resting on her head. Right before I clicked he lifted his hand for some reason.
And then he noticed what I was up to.
His Grandma and Grandpa Alger gave him and his cousins sleds for Christmas and then they took them all sledding. He had a blast!
We sure love this kid!

Christmas with the Johnsons

We spent Christmas Eve with the Johnson side of the family. We ate yummy appetizer types of food, read the Christmas Story from the scriptures, and sang hymns and carols. Good times, great memories.

Sammy and Lola in their Christmas Eve Jammies. ( Both are faking sleep.)
Christmas Eve Anger.
Christmas Eve Bonding.
The Anger returns.

Baby Hyde.
Christmas Eve Kisses.
Baby Jekyll.

The Haul.
The favorite - Bey Blades. Basically two tops that "fight" in a bowl - I mean battle stadium.
Christmas Brunch at Grandma and Grandpa Alger's house.
Lola and her "favorite" aunt. The Monchichi and her first-cousin-once-removed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from the Johnsons!

3 Weeks!

Finally, a happy progression shot. Don't worry, I won't be doing this EVERY week of her life. Just on the first four weeks and then once a month after that for the first year. It's something I wish I had done with Sam. But I was young and stupid back then. Now I'm just stupid.
Coming soon:
A Christmas Post
Comparison pics between Sam and Lola
Some beautiful shots my sister Becky took of Lola when she was just three days old.

Who do you think she looks like?

2 Weeks Old

And again with the anger. Poor baby went to the doctor this morning and the pricked her heel for the PKU test. She did not like that and neither did I. I had more tears than she did. It was really sad. Also really sad for me is that she gained 9 oz. last week and she is already 1.25 inches taller than when she was born. She was born a 6lbs. 12 oz. and 17.75 inches. When we left the hospital she was down to 6lbs. 3 oz. which was about 3% loss and totally normal for a new born. Three days later on her five day appointment she was 6 lbs 10 oz. Now, nine days later she is 7lbs. 3 oz. and 20 inches long. Why must they grow up so fast?

Here is a pic of her a little happier.
And here she is at her happiest, huggin' and sleepin' on her big bro.

The answer to the mystery...

Andrea was right! It's pink dryer lint. I guess I washed and dried a particularly pink load recently and BAM, pink lint. That's never happened at our house before. I think I like it.

One week old already... and a mystery.

Lola is spending more time awake. Once for a 20 minute stretch.
Miss Lola was not very happy with me during this shot.

This is something I have never seen before.
Take a guess.
Answer on Friday.
P.S. I like to put my nose by Lola's mouth so I can smell her breath. It smells good. Is that weird?
